Artist Statement…
Je M’apellle DJ…My name is DeVonte Greene
Je suis vingt-huit ans
I am 28 years old. I was born in Portsmouth Virginia.
I was raised between Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Atlanta Georgia, and South Elgin Illinois. I am a poet, music and visual artist not necessarily in that order. I am a active duty service member for almost 10 years. I’ve been sketching since I was a child but I didn’t start painting until 2018. I started painting because I felt like painting. I continued because it was therapy. I think it would be unfair to give you all an incomplete synopsis of myself because I am still learning about myself.
